The Brauerander Trust Committee's Vision in 1999 was to develop a World class sporting and recreational park for 

City of Warrnambool and district in perpetuity. 

In 2000 a sports engineering company was commissioned to develop and construct a regional all weather athletics complex that would meet the standards of the International Association of Athletics Foundation (I.A.A.F). On Thursday, 20th September 2007 The Brauerander Trust's Vision came to fruition with the official Opening ceremony for Stage One of Brauerander Park which was conducted by Professor David de Kretser, A.C., Governor of Victoria.

In 2022 the new World Class Polytan track surface was laid, with I.A.A.F accreditation, it replaced the Mondo track surface 

that was originally laid in February 2007.
